In April of
2009 I was invited to exhibit a selection of my Fireworks Photos in Liuyang,
Hunan China at the 9th International Liuyang Fireworks Festival. The 9th
China (Liuyang) International Fireworks Festival was opened in Hunan’s
Liuyang City on the evening of May 22. Secretary of Hunan Provincial CPC
Committee Zhang Chunxian, Vice Director of State Administration of Work
Safety Sun Huashan, and other top officials in Hunan province feasted their
eyes on the fantastic and splendid fireworks display along with over ten
thousand guests from home and abroad.
At 8:00 pm, thousands of fireworks
in the shape of various objects and images such as falling cascades, fluttering
red flags, celestial scattered flowers and other patterns glittered through
the sky and brought viewers to a world of fantasy and wonder. These three-dimensional
scrolls of fireworks images reflect the highest level of the fireworks
industries throughout the world.
According to the organizing committee
of the festival, 100 thousand sets of fireworks were prepared to be set
off for the event, which is a larger scale of fireworks display over and
above previous such events. The new fireworks technologies and products
developed by Liuyang fireworks professionals made a debut following their
success at the ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
The China (Liuyang) International
Fireworks Festival is held once every two years. Many special activities
were scheduled during this festival such as the 2nd China Fireworks &
Firecrackers Safety Forum, the 3rd China Fireworks & Firecrackers Industrial
Fair, the International Investment & Financing Summit for the Global
Fireworks Industry, the 3rd International Music Fireworks Display Competition
and the 1st exclusive International Fireworks Photography Exhibition. Liuyang
has successfully held nine international fireworks festivals since the
1990s. The International Fireworks Festival has become an immensely popular
event with a far-reaching influence on the global fireworks industry, significantly
pushing forward the progress and advancement of fireworks and firecrackers
industries in China and around the world. |
